I don't know about y'all, but when I see something coming out that's representing the Latine community, me siento muy excited.
It's no secret that for years, and years, and years, this community has been underrepresented in television and film. There have been strides in diversity, but it hasn't been enough to level the playing field.
And when there has been representation, it has often been bogged down in problematic stereotypes.
Yet, we understand the importance of representation and what it can do to inspire the next generation.
Benny 'The Jet' Rodriguez meant a lot to many baseball-loving Latines, for example.
Years later, Encanto would strike a very emotional chord with many in the Latine community.
One Day At A Time brought the big feelings and tears, along with the lighthearted fun, and it meant a lot.
