This Student's Email To Her Professor About A Late Assignment Is The Funniest Quarantine Mood

"Honestly my report is a bop."

This whole pandemic thing has been tough for all of us, but things are especially crazy for college students right now.

So when Tumblr user Rainbowkarolina — who is currently a college student majoring in biology — found out that she had missed an assignment due date, she pulled out all the stops in emailing her professor to appeal his decision to mark the assignment late:

There's so much to love about this email, not least of which is where she said "I assumed we were no longer keeping track of time or days, and honestly I can't even tell you how long it's been since I even remember experiencing a 'Friday.'" MOOD.

I deeply sympathized with the part where she said that she is "only aware of Wednesdays" because that's when Survivor is on, although for me, I'm marking the passage of time based on HGTV shows.

And describing her report as "a bop" was truly *chef's kiss*.

Rainbowkarolina noted that she felt comfortable sending this email because she knows Phil — the professor — pretty well. "I’ve had classes with him since my first year, and I work with his younger son at the school I work at, so I know him personally," she told BuzzFeed.

She also mentioned that she plans on being a TA for one of his classes next year.

"In some classes you have structured times you meet and [have] more of a schedule to work on, and others just post all the materials and let you go at your own pace," she said. "That’s why I forgot about the one assignment, because there's no scheduled meeting time for the class. I never thought there’d be a day where I missed hustling from class to class across campus, but here we are."

Thankfully, Rainbowkarolina's email seemed to work, as her professor emailed back agreeing that the report was indeed a "bop" and that her email was "the only interesting thing to happen this week." Also mood.

I want to thank Rainbowkarolina for the brief entertainment, and also for giving me my new quarantine catchphrase: "I am now only aware of Wednesdays."
