OK Millennials, I’m Sorry But It’s Time To Officially Retire These Words And Phrases

    Hello, fellow millennials. It's time we have a little chat.

    For years now, we've been incorporating popular millennial catchphrases into our everyday speak... But I think the time has come to finally stop.

    It pains me, but here are 17 popular millennial sayings I think we should collectively agree to retire.

    1. "Doggo"

    I know, I know. It's cute. But it's just...so overused. At one point, Facebook had an entire group dedicated to cute "doggos," and people would comment "10/10 doggo spotting today."

    2. "I did a thing..."

    This one particularly infuriates me, because people tend to use it before telling you the most basic, mundane activity from their day. They'll be like, "I did a thing..." and then show you a picture of the dresser they bought at Ikea.

    3. "Funsies"

    It's just an annoying word. 

    4. "Adulting"

    Or any variation like, "adulting is hard," "I had to do so much adulting today," "I'm tired of adulting" — they all fit in this category. Fam, we are now all in our late 20s, 30s, 40s...please stop.

    5. "Basic"

    I know everyone is going to lose it over this phrase, because it's so heavily incorporated into general pop culture at this point... But this word is just a way to make people feel bad for liking popular (good) foods, drinks, activities, etc. and it's starting to bore me.

    6. Saying "'Merica" instead of "America"

    Just don't.

    7. "Some personal news ~"

    EVERY time someone on social media wants to announce a career change or new job, or move — they start with, "some personal news..." Let's pick a new opener, people.

    8. "My fur babies"

    While at one time a cute way to refer to your pets, it's now in the same boat as "doggo."

    9. "I can't even"

    Often used in reference to not being able to handle a very minor inconvenience — I think it's time we stop saying this all together.

    10. Feels

    Millennials loooove saying "this song got me in my feels" or "I'm in my feels," but it's just starting to sound childish and irritating.
