OK, so words are weird. I see that now.

Nat: OK, so I know this one! It's like when you're a super fan of something, right?
Andria: Yes! I guess that was too easy...
Nat: OK, I see this word all the time on the internet and have zero idea what it means. It makes me feel so millennial.
My best guess would be to like something?
Andria: LOL, it's big on TikTok, especially. But yes, it means, like, you're embarrassingly too into someone.
Nat: Umm...if you're trying to be low-key about something?
Andria: Haha! It means you're being totally honest. People also say, "You're cappin'" if they think you're lying.
Nat: Something you feel certain about.
Andria: Yes! It can also be used like, "watch me," when you're stepping up to a challenge.
Nat: I look at this word, and all I can think of is shisha.
Andria: Understandable, TBH. But it actually has multiple meanings: a) being annoyed with someone or b) when someone is super hot.
Nat: An onomatopoeic sound you make when you're excited about something?
Andria: You can use it that way, too, but it's like when you exit somewhere dramatically. I guess that's the best way to explain it.
Nat: I think it means it's a good song?
Andria: That's exactly what it means!
Nat: All I know is to finesse something means to make it better in the Queen's English. Does it mean something different in American slang?
Andria: Dang, why you gotta be smart?
Nat: Having fancy things?
Andria: Kinda... It's like when someone is so finely dressed and is oozing fashion and confidence.
Nat: Something you feel really strongly about vs. something you need to be secretive about.
Andria: Yeah, that's basically the best way to explain it.
Nat: OK, I've actually used this word in context but have no idea what it actually means. I've used it to mean that something is pretty cool/interesting, but I'm not sure if that's actually correct.
Andria: Oh, you're close! It means if something is different in a good way, usually used in reference to food. Like, if you put sauce on steak "it hits different" than eating it dry.
Nat: Is this another word for something that is really good?
Andria: Yeah, I'm realizing just how many words Americans have to express something being great, LOL.
Nat: OK, surely this is short for "suspicious," no?
Andria: Ugh, yes, right again. This was super popular when everyone started playing Among Us.
Nat: I can't believe this.
Andria: It can mean that, but also like you can't handle something because it's just too preposterous.
Nat: A compliment when someone is looking really hot.
Andria: Yes, literally spot on.
Nat: I'm agreeing to do something.
Andria: Fun fact about me — I hate this expression, LOL.
Nat: Ohhh! Does this mean trying to pass off something kinda shitty as good? Our expression for that is "polishing a turd." So charming.
Andria: Aw, yes! I love that!
Nat: When you're not paying attention to something and you're kind of off with the fairies.
Andria: Haha! That's the best, most accurate description I've ever heard.
Nat: As in, scoot over? Like, to move to the side?
Andria: Wait, so is this a thing everywhere then?
Nat: Is this kind of like saying, "Aww, you're so cute"?
Andria: OMG, it's actually the opposite! It's used in the South as kind of a polite way of telling someone they're a mess — like, "you poor thing."
Nat: It sounds like kissing out the back of a barn or something. Like, something Danny Zuko might say to the other T-Birds when they were discussing those summer nights — "I put a hankerin' on her!"
Andria: LOL! Oh, wow. It means like a craving for something, but I think it's mostly used in the Southern US.
