Patch v5.0 has given us a whole lot of new Battle Royale content. Here's what we've been able to find so far.

    1. Some pretty significant cosmetic changes were made to the map...

    2. They've added a massive desert that surrounds a brand new resort town called "Paradise Palms."

    3. There's a golf course called "Lazy Links."

    4. There's also a Viking village randomly located on top of a mountain near Snobby Shores.

    5. Oh, and Dusty Divot is now loaded with trees — jump rocks are gone, shield shrooms are numerous.

    6. Moisty Mire, the prison, Anarchy Acres, and the soccer pitch are all GONE.

    7. THERE ARE NOW GOLF CARTS, and they can carry a whole team of four — you can't run people over though. Hitting players with them deals no damage.

    8. "Ancient Statues" are scattered around in various locations.

    9. They added location-based emotes. Here's the golf one —there's a basketball emote too if you can find a hoop.

    10. Gyro/motion controls are now available on Switch!

    11. Instead of just shrinking, Storm circles will now shift to different locations.

    12. There are now "rifts" in random locations around the map, and you can travel through them.

Here's what happened to one person who was brave enough to try.

    13. You can now see underwater when you crouch.

    14. You can also sample the sounds of each pickaxe before taking them in-game.

    15. There's a sleek new "Victory Royale" animation.

    16. There are also loads of new challenges to complete if you purchase the Battle Pass, which costs 950 V-Bucks ($9.50) — a Twitch streamer by the name of SquatingDog put together this helpful cheat sheet for the first week of challenges.
