    British Celebrities Talk Periods And Puberty

    Research has shown that parents and girls feel too embarrassed to talk to each other about coming of age, so a host of celebrities are joining forces to tackle the taboo subjects in a new YouTube series by Lil-Lets

    The way young Brits find out about the birds and the bees and puberty has radically changed for today's tweens and teens. The days of sitting down with mum and dad for the talk are now being replaced with technology and 'How To' videos on the internet as both parents and children admit they don't talk to each other about puberty, periods and relationships - because they are too embarrassed.

    In order to ensure that young girls are getting the right answers to their questions, Lil-Lets has teamed up with a host of celebrities from sport, fashion and music to create a series of YouTube videos to help girls through the most important and transitional time in their lives. Lil-Lets want to ensure that not only are girls getting the right answers on a platform they are comfortable with but they also gain the confidence to open up and talk to their family and friends about their concerns.

    The 'Becoming A Teen' campaign launched recently with the aim to help reassure and educate young girls on the issues they face when going into and throughout their teenage years by working with people they admire and trust from popular culture. The latest series will run until May 2016.

    This year, The Saturdays' Vanessa White, swimmer Rebecca Adlington, cyclist Dani King, footballers Steph Houghton and Lucy Bronze and bloggers Patricia Bright and Em Sheldon join forces to tackle the most asked questions for tweens and teens.

    By working with people that girls admire and trust, Lil-Lets is creating content to reassure and empower young teenage girls which can only be a good thing. The fact that girls will see these people talk about important teen topics will help make periods one less thing for them to worry about and help them to realise that they are not the only ones going through puberty... and they are not alone.

    Lil-Lets has also recently hosted a Tampon Truths panel discussion to discuss tampon taboos and truths with Cherry Healey, Gemma Cairney, Jess Wright, Lucy Mangan and Chella Quint sharing their thoughts on periods, tampons, sexism, body confidence and the importance of talking openly about subjects that are still in 2015, considered taboos.
