Twitter Is In Disbelief That An Indian Court Filed A Case Against Pokemon Go Because Of Eggs

Eggs present in the game are freely available at Pokestops, many of which happen to be at temples. The petitioner stated that since eggs are non-vegetarian, it is blasphemous that they be present in places of worship for Hindus and Jains.

On September 7, Alay Anil Dave filed a Public-Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Gujarat High Court, against the developers of Pokemon Go, claiming that it is hurting religious sentiments by showing eggs at a place of worship.

Dave stated that since eggs are considered non-vegetarian food, they should not be present near or inside places of worship for Hindus and Jains.

Since the case seems to be one of the most ridiculous things ever, Indian Twitter hasn't let up on the entire issue.

"People playing the game get their points in the form of eggs which generally appear in the places of worship of different religious groups. To find eggs in temples of Hindus and Jains is blasphemous, and therefore my client has sought ban on the game from the country,” the petitioner’s lawyer Nachiket Dave said.

    Okay then.
