    During the July 26 Rajya Sabha session, Congress MP from Himachal Pradesh Viplove Thakur demanded that India ban the sale of fairness creams, stating that it is "demeaning for women".

    While reporting said session, News 18 tweeted the story with the headline: "In a bizarre statement, Congress MP demanded a ban on sale of fairness creams says it is demeaning for women".

    And it really didn't go down well with a lot of people.

    A lot of people pointed out that the statement made by the MP was one of the smartest things to come out of a politician's mouth.

    And they just couldn't understand what about the statement was "bizarre".
