"Life Goes On" Cast Members Reunite Over 20 Years Later

Corky (Chris Burke), Becca (Kellie Martin), and Libby Thatcher (Patti LuPone) to appear on an episode of Home & Family.

Fans of ABC's 1989-1993 drama Life Goes On have reason to celebrate this week. Home & Family, a daytime talk show on Hallmark Channel, will air a partial cast reunion where three of the show's stars, Chris Burke (who played Corky Thatcher), Kellie Martin (who played Becca), and Broadway legend Patti LuPone (who portrayed their mother, Libby) appear as guests.

Life Goes On was notable for being the first TV series to feature a character with Down syndrome, and much of the initial drama of the show stemmed from the challenges Corky and his family grappled with. Since the final episode aired in 1993, Burke has appeared in several other series and has become an advocate for people with Down syndrome; LuPone has been nominated for three more Tony awards, winning again for the 2008 Broadway revival of Gypsy; and Martin obtained a degree from Yale and continued a successful career in television, including a role on ER as Lucy Knight. There's been no word of what became of Arnold the Semi-Wonder Dog.

This reunion is the latest in a recent set of episodes where the Home & Family has reunited cast members from several beloved shows, including Dynasty, The Love Boat, Happy Days, and Knots Landing.

If this mini-reunion renews some interest in getting Life Goes On streaming, all the better. The entire series isn't even available on DVD!

The Home & Family episode is scheduled to air Monday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m.
