The coronavirus pandemic is still impacting travel, and destinations around the world have different COVID-19 restrictions in place. Always check and adhere to local government policies as you're planning any future trips.
St. Lucia is a Caribbean island known for lush greenery, volcanic beaches, stunning resorts, the Pitons, crystal-clear water, and the endless list goes on.
I went here for a quick weekend getaway, and it took up far too much iPhone storage. Why? Because the scenery demanded it. Scroll below for major wanderlust and deeper understanding of why I, AnaMaria, am contemplating moving there.
1. Behold the most romantic sunset I’ve ever seen — major kudos belonging to this ethereal Piton.
2. Caterpillars that look as if they could be featured on the cover of National Geographic because, wow. Seems fake. Far too vibrant.
3. A cocoa bean in all of its pre-chocolate glory. The taste is slimy and bitter and vaguely mango-esque.
4. Clouds that look as if they were plucked from a jewelry shop and melted into a fluffy gold.
5. A rainbow!
6. A double rainbow!
7. A tree house fashioned from a mango tree, complete with comfy chairs and games. A moment of appreciation for this tree house in the rain.
8. Coffee, a good book, and this environment? Someone call the proper authorities, because I’m pretty sure I’ve just discovered heaven.
9. A walk-in oasis with not one, not two, but THREE rainfall showerheads (cc: Ladera Resort) decorated far better than any WC I’ve walked into before.
10. Fresh coconut water.
11. I mean, really and truly fresh.
12. This very casual room tour.
13. Small gaps through dense trees that reveal this kind of coastline view.
14. A drink consisting of ginger, lemon, bitters, pineapple juice, and rum. The Starbucks pink drink could never.
15. Walks engulfed by the biodiversity shown below, which makes my New York City apartment feel even more bleak/small/dungeon-like.
16. The only pool I want to swim in. The inflatable one I used in my youth seems even more sad.
17. A cozy corner table at Orlando’s, a fine-dining Caribbean establishment located in the heart of Soufrière.
18. A bird helping itself to my meal. I assume it will Venmo me for the chips later?
19. Natural mud baths at Sulphur Springs, aka a luxurious experience that would give any hot tub a run for its money.
20. Helllloooo, mud elixir that made my skin smoother than silk.
21. A random swing built in the middle of a walking trail for folks who could use a pit stop...
22. ...and more Piton views for the soul.
