Throwing Stormtroopers is always a good time.
The story of the game perfectly fits into the Star Wars saga between Episode III and Rogue One. It follows Darth Vader on the search for an energy source on Mustafar.
Rudolph plays ZO-E3, a very spunky droid who kicks ass and takes names. She's also helpful if you're new to the world of VR and don't know what you're doing. While you're playing the game, ZO-E3 will guide you when you're stuck!
When confronting Stormtroopers, sure, you can deflect their blasts with your lightsaber, but something about picking up a Stormtrooper and dragging them across the platform they're standing on to knock over other Stormtroopers is just so darn satisfying.
Since it's a three-part series and you're the main character, it feels like you're actually playing a role in your own movie.
There is a Lightsaber Dojo in the game that kind of reminded me of when Luke trained with Ben Kenobi in the Millennium Falcon. This Dojo gets harder and harder the better you get!
OK, I honestly think the most badass weapon in the Star Wars universe is a thermal detonator. They're essentially deadly water balloons, and I love them. In the game, you can pick them up and actually throw them. They don't work as well if you have the worst aim in the galaxy like I do.
I am very finnicky about graphics on my video games. I honest to goodness think that bad graphics strain my eyes and give me a headache. These graphics, however, are very clear, which I honestly think just adds to how intimidating Darth Vader is when you see him.
Without giving too much of the story away and spoiling the whole game, it's very rare that you see moments where you sympathize with Darth Vader, and this game has a one of those. It adds a whole new layer to Vader's character.
It's another excellent and unbelievably fun way to combat in the game.
Something difficult about VR for me is the motion sickness. The game has several settings to make playing more comfortable, such as if you're prone to motion sickness or if you're playing the game sitting down.
I hate jump scares, gore, and most violence in video games. Video games are happy places for me! This game is more action and adventure than scary and gory. It's perfect for younger fans and older fans! It is rated T, so use your discretion.
Listen, I don't like moving a lot while I'm playing video games, but if you're really into blasting and doing some fancy lightsaber maneuvers, you can definitely work up a sweat! It's really easy to get too into it, so I'd move away any breakables.
It's so fun to go against the big man himself to see how you'd hold up in the duel.
You can buy all three episodes of Vader Immortal for $9.99 each, or you can get them for free when you purchase an Oculus Quest headset between November 21 and January 31. May the force be with you!
