I am a teenage girl from Pakistan with a passion for writing. This passion, of course, stemmed from my obsession with reading. I have been writing from a pretty early age, starting off with poems and couplets. My love for writing has only intensified over time. Last year, I took part in the Commonwealth Jubilee Campus Essay Writing Competition and wrote a 1500 words long essay on the tradition of honor killing in Pakistan titled "Death of the Dishonorable". For this, I was awarded the Silver Award. Recently, I have also started posting on my blog. I mainly write about topics that are relevant to myself, which include the plight of women in Pakistan and the South Asian society, the norms and implications of a Muslim society and the disregard of science and semantics by the clerics in my country. This, of course, does not mean that I cannot use my skills for other topics, but that I can give a first-hand account while writing about these topics. Other of my interests include acting, and I have acted in several plays which were shown at the Broadway of Pakistan, the prestigious Arts Council. Although I have not traveled much, one of my biggest desires is to go round the world not for sightseeing, but to learn about literature, interact with new people and lose myself to the surroundings.
