Yesterday, Nashville-based rock band Daisyhead released their much anticipated debut, full-length record, The Smallest Light, an 11-song collection of heartfelt tracks that blend influences of post-hardcore, alternative rock and pop punk. The album's second track, "Lacking Basis," is certainly one of the most powerful heartfelt songs, packing a powerful emotional gut punch, but don't stop there. This is one album you'll want to hear from start to finish.

    "Still" - The Japanese House

It's not often I pay a lot of mind to music that comes across my Facebook feed, but with the amount of attention this track garnered in a matter of hours, I had to take a listen. And, thank goodness I did. "Still" is a breath of fresh air in a music world that can oftentimes feel suffocating and overbearing. But, with Matty Healy of The 1975 as one of your producers and biggest promoters via social media, it's probably no coincidence the song topped 12,000 streams on SoundClound in just one day. Amber Bain, the UK-based artist behind The Japanese House, is set to release her debut EP Pools to Bathe In April 24 through Dirty Hit Records.

    "Concrete" - As It Is

Get ready for a juggernaut of pop punk with this one. "Concrete" has it all – uptempo, high-energy guitar and drum styles blended seamlessly with quintessential pop-punk vocals from frontman Patty Walters and vocalist/guitarist Benjamin Biss. The Brighton-via-Minneapolis quintet is set to release their debut album Happily Never, Ever After April 21 via Fearless Records. They are currently supporting Set It Off on the Glamour Kills Spring Break Tour through April and are slated to play the entire Vans Warped Tour this summer. As It Is are definitely an act to keep an eye on in 2015.

    "Different" - The Academic

The debut single "Different" from up-and-coming indie-rock band The Academic is a masterpiece perfectly crafted for the radio airwaves. While a made-for-radio track may not have been the band's intention, the catchy pop elements intertwined with indie-rock sensibilities set the song up for immediate success. While the Ireland natives have yet to release their debut EP, "Different" is a clear indicator to stay tuned for what's in store.
