Things That People With Nose Rings Don't Want To Hear

We all probably know someone who has or has had their nose pierced, and everyone with one hears annoying things about them. These are the things not to say.

1. "I just want to take it out."

Please don't. It's not fun to struggle to get it back in.

2. "You look better without it."

I don't care. If I like it, I'm going to leave it in. It's close to a compliment, but it's annoying.

3. "Are you taking it out for your wedding?"

Women hear this with tattoos too. If we want to take it out, we will. But we're not going to worry about that right now.

4. "You'll never get a job with that."

There are a lot of places that will hire people that have nose rings, and even if not, there are nose retainers that I can wear.

5. "Did it hurt?"

Of course it hurt. I got a needle shoved through my nose cartilage and then a piece of surgical steel shoved through that hole.

6. "Ew."

First, this is just offensive. Second, you're not the one wearing it. So don't tell me ew if you don't have to worry about it.

7. "Are you gonna get it gauged?"

Just because some people choose to doesn't mean everyone is going to.

8. "Why did you ruin your face?"

I don't know because I like it on me and I enjoy it.

9. "You're gonna regret that."

If I do, I'll just take it out.

10. "Why?"

Because I wanted to.

11. "Hope it doesn't get infected."

It won't. Because I clean it. Because I'm responsible.

12. “You’re so pretty, why did you do that to yourself?”

Because, once again, I could.

All in all, you look fabulous with your piercing and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
