Look, some of the scariest movies of all time are movies marketed to children...I'm just sayin'.
Still, some of the scariest moments in children's media can come out of nowhere in an otherwise happy-go-lucky film.
So — with this in mind — what's the most unexpectedly dark scene and/or moment to ever appear in a film for kids?
Maybe the "Pleasure Island" sequence in Pinocchio still freaks you out every single time you think of those donkey children.
Or perhaps it was the sequence in The Rugrats Movie where Tommy snapped and almost covered Dil in banana paste so that the monkeys would straight up kidnap him?!
Heck, maybe it was something more obvious, like the boat scene in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, that has stayed with you for all eternity.
