    1. Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn

    William Morrow Paperbacks

"I genuinely do not understand how this one was not on you original list? It's one of the best plot twists of all time!"

    2. Changes: The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

    Roc; Reprint Edition

"For those of you who don't know, The Dresden Files is about a P.I. in modern-day Chicago — but he's a wizard. Firstly, up until this point, each book has been a two-word title. The title of book 12? Changes. The opening line hit me (and the rest of us fans) like a semitruck."

    3. Here Lies Daniel Tate by Cristin Terrill

Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers

"The narrator is so unpredictable and there are so many twists and turns in the story. I’m still a bit scarred by the ending."

    4. Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

"When we find out Sam’s new best friend had just been someone she made up in her head this whole time...whoa."

    5. Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney

    Flatiron Books

"It was just such a good freaking book. I literally flew through it. It was so intriguing and has one of the best plot twists ever."

    6. Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough

    Flatiron Books

"It’s about a woman who sleeps with her boss and then accidentally befriends his wife. There are deep secrets within this love triangle, and a lot more sinister things going on. The whole time, you’re wondering who the bad guy is. I never in a million years saw the plot twist coming!"

    7. The Grave by James Heneghan

    Farrar, Straus & Giroux

"You find out he was related to the main family and that his football coach is actually his father."

    8. The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks

    Simon & Schuster

"Now THERE'S a plot twist for you!"

    9. Ghosted by Rosie Walsh

    Penguin Books

"Read this book if you want an amazing plot twist. It's an incredible twist that I never saw coming."

    10. When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead

"The last chapter of this book absolutely blew my mind."

    11. Final Girls by Riley Sager

"It was 1,000% the best plot twist of any book I ever read. I had to put the book down and pace to process it before I could even continue. I called my mom, screaming."

    12. The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

    Celadon Books

"It's the true G.O.A.T. of this category."

    13. Winter in the Blood by James Welch

    Penguin Classics

"This one had a pretty good twist at the end. In case you’ve read it already, it turns out that the blind old man is actually the unnamed narrator’s grandfather. This twist also comes before the narrator’s grandmother dies at the end."

    14. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

    Ballantine Books

"If you love twists, I can't recommend this book enough!"

    15. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

"My favorite plot twist of all time is in this book. 'Anyone can betray anyone...'"

    16. One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus

"The sequel to One of Us Is Lying is even better than the first book. McManus really takes you on a ride. I personally figured out part of the reveal early on, but the story was so good that I didn’t care — then she hits you with ANOTHER twist at the last possible second and it left me REELING."

    17. Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

    William Morrow Paperbacks

"I know that it's a classic, but everything just came together so beautifully at the end while remaining so unexpected at the same time!"

    18. The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

    St. Martin's Griffin

"I don’t even know how to begin explaining that plot twist, but holy shit! I literally screamed out loud."

    19. Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult

    Washington Square Press

"The very last page changes absolutely everything you’ve just read. I read it like 10 years ago and I STILL think about that ending on a regular basis."

    20. And finally — The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin

    Puffin Books

"I read it as a kid and loved it, then re-read it as an adult when I was cast in the play, and I loved it even more! There are so many twists and turns to it and it’s just so much fun. Highly recommend!"
