So, we've all experienced the incredibly awkward scenario when you recognize someone at a party, but can't necessarily place them.

It happens to the best of us and, as she revealed on The Ellen Show this week, it has even happened to Oprah.

The event in question was Ellen's now INFAMOUS 60th birthday party.

First of all, there was perfectly good reason for Oprah not to recognize people she'd spoken to before, as they were all dressed down for the event.

So she and her friend, Gayle, were just chilling at the bar when a man she definitely recognized, but couldn't place, walked by them.

She waved it off and began speaking to The Weeknd, another man she didn't recognize right away due to his recent haircut, but when the ~mystery man~ came back, she just couldn't shake the feeling she knew him.

Which lead to The Weeknd creating the absolute perfect introduction.

And, being Oprah, she finessed the situation perfectly.

So, it turns out the ~mystery man~ was quite a famous movie star.
