It's hard to believe it was 10 years ago that we were first introduced to Emma Stone and Jonah Hill in Superbad, when they were basically babies.
Well, today our little babies are all grown up and back together, co-starring in the SUPER TRIPPY first trailer for Netflix's Maniac. Prepare yourself:
The limited 10-episode dark comedy is based on a 2014 Norwegian series, which follows participants of a mysterious pharmaceutical drug trail.
Stone and Hill play Annie Landsberg and Owen Milgrim, two complete strangers who end up in the same trial for different reasons.
The trial is run by Dr. Mantleray (Justin Theroux), who is fixated on "changing" the way the human mind operates, though his ends don't necessarily always justify the means.
In order to "solve" their minds, the characters go on adventures through various realms in the depths of their own imaginations.
The trailer is filled with absolutely stunning (and confusing) imagery, making the whole thing feel like if Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Black Mirror had a beautifully weird baby.
So be sure to catch Maniac when it debuts on Netflix Sept. 21, 2018...just in time for some autumn spooks!
