People Appreciated The Microsoft Super Bowl Ad About Kids With Special Needs

    The real MVP.

Everyone knows the best thing about the Super Bowl is arguably the commercials.

Well, one in particular this year had people choking back tears.

Just aired: Our #SuperBowl commercial. When everybody plays, we all win. https://t.co/6EEhbvWMN8 #SBLIII

We’re talking about Microsoft’s ad showcasing their new adaptive controller.

But the video game-loving kids with special needs who starred in the commercial were the real stars of the ad.

One kid says, “When I’m playing with a regular controller, there are some things that don’t work for me.”

Another adds, “It’s difficult for me to use both joysticks and the D pad at the exact same time.”

Then this wise-beyond-his-words kid says, “I never thought it was unfair. I just thought, ‘hey this is the way it is and it’s not gonna change.’”

People are also reacting to the incredibly heartwarming approach to the commercial.

@Microsoft Nice work #Microsoft. As an occupational therapist in #tech & #Design, we need more inclusive and accessible designs. When everybody plays, we all win!

@Microsoft Finally a commercial for something of value and meaning. Shows how the product makes the ad, not the other way around. Great job Microsoft #Microsoft #SuperBowlAds

@Microsoft I absolutely loved this commercial! We got to see how the kids with different abilities are able to actually use the controllers alongside their friends locked in great gaming battles. #GCMSBP
