A Thread About Squirrels On College Campuses Totally Blew Up On Twitter

What's your story?

There has been a lot of talk about squirrels on a particular Twitter thread.

It was all set off by this tweet by Rodger Sherman.

1. did you attend a college with squirrels on campus 2. did people assert that your school’s squirrels were, in some way, different from most squirrels

He asks: Did you attend a college with squirrels on campus? And, did people assert that your school’s squirrels were, in some way, different from most squirrels?

Thousands of people replied with their own stories, like this one.

@rodger We had a prof at CCSU who dyed white spots on them so she could keep track of their behavior. They all got eaten by the campus hawk because of literal targets on their backs.

Some people even did research projects on the little critters.

@rodger The squirrels at ball state were so amazing I did an entire research project on where they liked to hangout most! Got an B in my biology research class!

Even Penn State replied to introduce one of theirs who goes by the name "Sneezy Squirrel."

@rodger Not only do we have @SneezySquirrel ... We have a bunch of his friends!

And there weren't just squirrel-sightings, but apparently also people with squirrels on them.

@rodger There was a man who walked around Columbia campus wearing a squirrel on each shoulder. Don’t know if it makes the squirrels themselves different, but it was a sight to behold.

There's even a holiday-themed squirrel compilation courtesy of Keele University.

@rodger The Keele squirrel is one of a kind #LoveKeele

Wheaton College's resident squirrel took this entire thread in stride. Or so they said.

@rodger Our squirrels' reaction to this thread: unbothered.

Bet you'll never look at a squirrel on campus the same way again.
