People Are Not Happy About This Line Of "Social Media Influencer" Dolls

"Do cool things, take cool photos."

Just when you think we’ve seen it all when it comes to pop culture and social media, it turns out — there’s more.

That’s because kids can now play with these “social media influencer” themed dolls. You read that right.

    #SNAPSTAR manufactures these dolls.

The social media influencer doll claims to be the first of its kind and they’re not just designed to wear the fashions of influencer girls, but…"they’re built to be photographed.”

But some people are concerned about these dolls because of the unrealistic expectations social media platforms, like Instagram, can promote.

I just saw an add for a barbie type doll called "Snapstar", their add campain states the following: "The #SNAPSTAR squad is a trendy group of besties ready to influence the world"....great. Prep them for Instagram nice and young

And some are making sarcastic comments questioning the dolls themselves.

What mom wouldn't want her 5 year old to play with a disproportionately shaped doll with unobtainable long necks, stunted torso & thin legs to force feed the delusion that social media & selfies that contradict their actual lives is normal? #Snapstar YULU https://t.co/W4hLvZkMJy

However, there is someone who appreciates the dolls' "15 points of articulation."

#SNAPSTAR dolls are fully poseable with 15 points of articulation, making them pros at working those camera angles like true social media stars! 🤳🏼 #SnapstarSquad

P.S. SNAPSTAR just came out with a Coachella collection.

What are your thoughts? Are these dolls just a sign of the times?
