President Barack H. Obama Highway Now Runs Through A Section Of Los Angeles

    "I'm taking the Obama."

President Barack Obama made news this week for putting on a Santa hat and spreading some holiday cheer at a children’s hospital in Washington, D.C.

Yesterday, Santa Obama stopped by @ChildrensHealth to spread a little Christmas cheer and remind us what the holiday season is all about—giving back to the communities that we call home:

Now our former president is making headlines once again because a section of a Los Angeles-area highway was renamed in his honor.

One of the last bills I helped pass in the state legislature was to rename the 134 Freeway after @BarackObama - Obama attended @Occidental in my district for a couple of years. Thank you @Portantino for co-authoring the bill & getting it done! https://t.co/nc3c7p637R

It’s now called the President H. Obama Highway.

We’re talking about the stretch from Glendale through the Eagle Rock section of LA on State Route 2 to Interstate 210 in Pasadena.

People are reacting to the news with hilarious takes like this one.

President Obama got a highway named after him in LA. Can’t wait to do the speed limit on that baby 💕

And a lot of motorists are trying to snap a pic, even if they're not at the wheel.

LMAO @BarackObama has caused yet another massive traffic jam in LA... This time everyone's trying to drive past his sign on #ObamaHighway. Not the greatest shot, but the driver refused to stop. 🙄 #ILoveLA

The name change was approved last year. Why that location, you ask? Obama went to Occidental College in Pasadena from 1979 to 1981.
