Dominic Fike Says That Being A Drug Addict And Filming "Euphoria" Was "Very Difficult" — And Led To A Relapse

    "I mean, I was a drug addict and coming onto a show mainly about drugs, it was very difficult."

    Filming Euphoria wasn't an easy experience for Dominic Fike — and he admits that he was actually high a lot of the time.

    Dominic, who has dealt with addiction issues for years, had been to rehab before he was cast on the show, but he had trouble staying sober.

    "I mean, I was a drug addict and coming onto a show mainly about drugs, it was very difficult," he shared during an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music.

    He continued, "Sam, the director and writer, he got me a sober coach, somebody to be there all the time. It did not work. … I was so fucked up doing a lot of that show."

    Dominic said things got "really bad" and he was eventually reprimanded for his actions.

    "I almost got kicked off the show…they were like, 'Bro, you cannot be doing this,'" he said.

    And despite the crew's opposition to Dominic's drug habits, he said they did end up using takes where he was actually high.

    "They had to…that’s entertainment, dude," he said. "They give you a bunch of money and they’re just like, 'Yeah, figure it out, bud. Sink or swim.'"

    Now that Dominic is sober, he said filming Season 3 is going to be a very different experience for him.

    "Yeah, it’s going to be sick. I think I have a better dynamic with everybody," he said.
