As if rising gas prices weren't enough, rent prices broke records last year by increasing by about 11.3%. To save money, I recently moved to the Midwest, but curiosity had me checking on my previous apartment building's open units. Lo and behold, the $1,466 price tag on my unit had been raised to $2,056.
