The Internet Helped A Couple Track Down A Beautiful Photo Of Their Proposal

    Well, this is just lovely.

Last week, a British man named Michael Kent took his girlfriend Fiona Newlands to Iceland in order to propose to her.

He got down on one knee in the middle of Reykjavík, and she said yes.

But there was more: Jessica Bowe, an American who lives in the city, decided to take pictures of the falling snow as she was walking home that night.

In the distance, she saw Kent proposing to Newlands.

And she captured this stunning picture.

    She told the Reykjavík Grapevine:

My intention in the first place was to capture the falling snow in the midst of the twinkling holiday lights. Then these two people entered the street, and I thought it would look lovely to have some silhouettes in the frame. So I happened to catch a shot right before the man went down on bended knee, and then of course THE moment it happened. It took a few seconds to sink in that I'd just witnessed the biggest moment in their lives.

In the photo's caption Bowe wrote: "The man's hands were trembling as he entered his email address on my phone, and I got some nice hugs of appreciation. Sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time."

However, it appears those trembling hands caused a problem: She had planned to email Kent the photo, but it didn't send – the address he gave her must have been wrong.

Kent asked the internet for help in tracking the woman down.

And meanwhile, Bowe asked the Reykjavík Grapevine for help. It posted the picture online and soon, thanks to both appeals going viral, Kent and Bowe were back in touch.

And here the three are, reunited!

Bowe told the Reykjavík Grapevine: "I usually post Instagram pictures of cats, jogging trails, randomly parked cars, sunsets or decorative latte foam, but I think after this I need to take my photographic style in a new direction, a la Humans of Reykjavik or something."

She later told BuzzFeed News: "I must add that after meeting Mike and Fiona in person and getting to know them a bit, I think they are wonderful people -- with a great sense of humour -- who deserve all the well wishes they've been receiving from around the world."

BuzzFeed News has contacted Kent and Newlands for further comment.
