A man has been arrested after a pregnant woman lost her baby when she was kicked in the stomach during a racist attack in Milton Keynes. The 34-year-old was racially abused in a Co-op in Water Eaton Road, Bletchley, before the attacker followed her to her car and kicked her.

The woman was taken to Milton Keynes general hospital for treatment but lost her unborn child as a result of the assault. Officers said the alleged offender also attacked a 40-year-old man, hitting him over the head with a bottle and a bag of ice.

Yesterday police released CCTV images of a man they wished to speak to in connection with the attack, which took place at about 9:40pm on Saturday 6 August.

This morning Thames Valley police said in a statement that a 37-year-old man from Milton Keynes had been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault and was currently in custody.
