12 "Sex And The City" Moments That Prove Carrie Bradshaw Would've Been A Terrible Sex Columnist Based On Today's Standards

Carrie should know better than to kink shame.

As I've rewatched some episodes of Sex and the City, I've noticed that Carrie isn't as open-minded and educated about sex, given her profession.

And sure, it was made 25 years ago, so, of course, Carrie's not gonna always act according to today's ideas of sex, but even back then, Samantha called her out for it:

"You know, for a sex columnist, you have a very limited view about sexuality."

So, here are some of the moments where Carrie was just not as knowledgeable or open-minded about sexuality and related topics as she should've been for a sex columnist:

    1. When she ditched her date at a party because she decided she was "too old" to be dating bisexual men.

    Carrie leaving her date

    2. When Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda made offensive comments about Samantha dating a woman.

    3. When she, Miranda, and Samantha attended a tantric sex workshop and couldn't not stop laughing like children the whole time:

    "Oh, we're the embarrassing part?"

    4. When she was disgusted that Miranda’s sexual partner kissed her after going down on her:

"Yes, I was all over his face."

    5. When Carrie was completely weirded out by oral-anal sex:

"How did they get the message that the ass is now on the menu?"

    6. When she judged Samantha after accidentally walking in on her giving a blowjob to a delivery guy in her own office.

Carrie saying she would never do what Samantha did with the UPS guy

    7. When she judged a politician who had a kink for being peed on:

"Wait a second. I may write about sex but... you like people to pee on you."

    8. When she said that women in their mid-30s shouldn't wear revealing clothes:

"Because it's time for ladies my age to start covering it up."

    9. When Charlotte's boyfriend propositioned her for anal sex, and she acted like it was a dire, urgent emergency.

"Sir, we're talking up the butt. A cigarette is in order."

    10. When she judged a woman for wearing a revealing outfit and also implied that there was something negative about being a sex worker:

    "No, cause she's a hooker."

    11. When she questioned if single, sexually active women in their 30s were "sluts."

"Are we simply romantically challenged? Or... are we sluts?"

    12. And when Samantha was freaking out about finding gray pubic hair and Carrie acted like it was a wildly inappropriate conversation:

"This is a child's birthday party."
