"I keep this little Bluetooth clicker device on me in case I'm out with my friends and we want to take a group picture. I just connect it to my phone via Bluetooth, and it avoids us having to awkwardly struggle to get everyone in one selfie. It sounds extra I know, but it comes in handy more often than you'd think."
Price: £5.99
"I was on the hunt for some bike shorts but found that a lot of ones from fashion retailers don’t contain pockets. Enter: these ones I nabbed from Amazon! The material is super soft and comfortable, and the pockets are deep enough to easily fit a smartphone. I’m planning on wearing them for summer runs, and then pairing them with a cropped tee and Converse on days where I need a casual warm-weather outfit!"
Price: £9.99 – they're available in sizes XS-XXL.
"Okay, okay, I know this stuff literally says 'poreless' in its name, but I'm still amazed at how effectively it smooths my skin. It gives my makeup a texture-free, velvety base to grip onto, but I've started using it on bare-faced days too because of how even it makes the pockmarked areas near my nose. Tl;dr – all the rumours are true!"
Price: £8.55.
"It contains collagen peptides, aloe vera, jojoba, witch hazel, and so many more skin-boosting elements. I use it in the morning and have found that it leaves my skin looking plumper and smoother – plus, I really like its not-too-heavy gel texture."
Price: £9.99.
"I use these bags everyday with my dog and I love that they're made from recycled post-consumer waste. They're sturdy and not too thin which gets a thumbs up from me!"
Price: £2.66 for 60 bags.
"I am something of a journaling addict, and for my birthday my colleagues very kindly got me this beautiful koi-motif notebook! As well as having a seriously pretty design, the pages are of a thick, high quality and have an off-white, cream colour that just screams classy to me. I liked it so much that I bought myself a second one in a different design so that I could have one for work and one for home."
Price: £8.99 each.
"Yup, there's no way to sugarcoat it, this notebook is made from 75% elephant dung and 25% recycled paper. I got gifted this, but I do genuinely think it's great. All of the pages are different colours and unlined, which I personally prefer to do any quick doodles or to-do lists. These notebooks are made by skilled artisans who use the paper from the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust in Sri Lanka. So whether you're looking for a new journal or a lighthearted gift, I recommend!"
Price: £14.95
"Have you ever seen that episode of Doctor Who where Lady Cassandra constantly asks her assistant to moisturise her? Well, that's basically me with my skincare collection. This overnight mask desilvers in spades – I apply it over my serums just before I sleep, and it's overtaken my previous fave moisturiser because of how much smoother and more glowy it leaves my skin."
Price: £14.78.
"During lockdown I wanted to find a postage bag that I could send gifts in and I came across these. They're made from cornstarch instead of plastic and can be placed in your food waste or compost bin to decompose once no longer needed. I find that they are super durable and can fit quite a few items."
Price: £10.99 for a pack of ten 14x19in bags.
"I had hit a plateau with bodyweight chin ups and spent ages researching the best dipping belt to buy that I could attach weight plates to in order to make certain exercises (chin-ups, dips, etc) more challenging. This one had tons of great reviews and I’m so glad I invested! I was worried the belt would fall right off me as I’m fairly petite, but thanks to its rigid back it stays firmly put when I place it on my hips. The long chain also makes it easy to really secure any additional weight plates to the belt without them swinging about during exercise. IMO this is also a really great gift for the gym rat in your life!"
*WRITER'S NOTE* – I did not realise until I saw my editor's entry that for some people, chin-ups are not challenging *enough*. What a world.
Price: £17.99.
"Its mesh upper keeps it incredibly well-ventilated, its welded groundsheet rises well above the floor for added security, and I've had Kinder egg toys that were harder to assemble. I love that the corners of the outer sheet attach to the inner sheet with handy buckles, and the front porch was bigger than I'd thought it would be – definitely roomy enough for my shoes, my backpack, *and* my grocery bag. In fact, the entire tent is bigger than I'd expected – though I wouldn't try to fit three people in it as the listing suggests you can."
Price: £81.99.
"The first time I woke up in this flannel-lined sleeping bag, I genuinely wondered for a split second if I was at home in my bed. It causes none of that sweaty stuffiness that even the best plastic-lined sleeping bags suffer from, and its breathable-but-substantial material kept me at the perfect temperature all night. Tall people will be glad of its impressive 190cm length, and anyone who appreciates not freezing to death will love its drawstring opening that you can gather around your shoulders for extra warmth."
Price: £53.99.
"I have quite sensitive skin so I have to be careful with the products I use. I love this moisturiser as it feels super hydrating without leaving a greasy residue or feeling heavy on the skin. I also love that the bottle is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic!"
Price: £2.29 for 125ml.
"Ethique have just launched their first collection of lipsticks and I'm obsessed. Not only do they feature wearable, long-lasting colours (that also look great dabbed on as tints!), but the packaging is 100% plastic free!"
Price: £15.00 – it's available in four shades.
"Everyone I know who's used this product has raved about it, and I now understand why. I apply it twice a day immediately after washing my face (your skin should be a little damp when you put it on), and it's given me that 'eight glasses of water a day' look my skin could never achieve unaided."
Price: £4.75.
"I'm definitely quite fussy when it comes to cleansers, but this feels cooling on the skin and will even remove my waterproof mascara! It's also a bonus for me that it's fragrance free."
Price: £5.00 for 700ml.
"This lip gloss is a permanent resident in my bag. This one looks coloured from my continuous use with it over a brown lip liner (predictable), but it's definitely the best clear gloss out of all the ones I've tried – which is a lot."
Price: £8.54.
"The first thing I noticed about 'Wonder Water' was its liquid consistency, which did leave me wondering how on Earth it'd work without sliding right off my hair. As I tend to have dry and split ends I was unsure how not having something with a creamy, nourishing-feeling texture would work, but honestly? I AM CONVERTED. You simply apply in the shower on wet lengths, massage for eight seconds, and then rinse out! The 'No Haircut' cream is a lazy girl-friendly leave-in product that you can apply wet or dry – I chose the damp option, and combined with the conditioner, it left my ends looking much less parched."
Wonder Water price: £4.74.
No Haircut Cream price: £3.80.
