Everything Is Falling Apart In The New "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" Trailer

Things really, really don't look good for Marvel Studios' team of superheroes.

The second trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron debuted on Monday, and if the first trailer didn't already make it clear, things are much darker and more fractured for Marvel Studios' band of superheroes this time out.

The second trailer is, if anything, a sort of companion piece to the first trailer.

It doesn't reveal any major plot developments we didn't know before...

And it also uses a similarly eerie version of "I've Got No Strings" from Disney's Pinocchio to introduce Ultron.

But in the second trailer, we do get an even grimmer picture of the punishment Ultron appears to dish out to the Avengers.

Iron Man gets slammed.

Captain America (Chris Evans) seems overmatched.

And Thor (Chris Hemsworth) appears unnervingly overwhelmed by the bolts of electricity he normally has no problem commanding.

It also looks like we'll get a glimpse into the past of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

And the trailer especially makes clear that things are not good for Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).

After Hulking out, he shares a tender moment with Black Widow, but then things go south very quickly.

HULK ANGRY!

HULK WALLOP IRON MAN!

HULK GET WALLOPED RIGHT BACK BY IRON MAN!

You said it, sister.

There is so much happening in this trailer, and yet Marvel Studios couldn't help but drop in a couple tantalizing mysteries.

Like this strange-looking ship.

Or who the heck Andy Serkis is playing in the film, since he keeps popping up in these trailers.

…whoever this person is.

Avengers: Age of Ultron opens May 1, 2015.
