Toronto Council Loosen Food Truck Regulations

    More street meat, yay!

Toronto residents can now enjoy more street meat after city council voted to loosen food truck regulations Tuesday.

Under the new regulations, food trucks can be within 30 metres of a brick and mortar restaurant. The previous rules stated 50 metres.

The vote will likely mean more food trucks on the streets, making Torontonians craving a hot dog, burger or any other classic food truck food winners.

“It has been a bit like making sausages over time, if you’ll pardon the reference to food. But I think we’re ending up in a place that is closer to the right place,’’ Mayor John Tory said in council before the vote.

But it wouldn't be Toronto City Council unless there was a fight over an item on the agenda, now would it?
