During a rehearsal last Friday for Niki Minaj's performance of Anaconda at the VMA's, a backup dancer was bitten by a snake on the inside of her left arm. The snake was neither venomous, nor an anaconda, but a 6-foot-long boa constrictor named Rocky. The snake's handler said there had never been an incident before this, so one can only assume Rocky was not a fan of Niki's interpretation of Sir Mix-a-Lot's classic.
The dancer was treated on-site and then rushed to a hospital for further treatment. Two days later she danced (sans snake) alongside Niki at the live show. Taylor Swift mentioned the incident during her performance of Shake it Off, when she remarked "People are getting bit by snakes, its dangerous," after refusing to jump off a ledge into her back-up dancer's outstretched arms.
The next time Niki wants to perform with a boa-constricter-accessory, she should really call Brittany's people first.
