Egyptian Mother Worked Disguising As A Man To Raise Her Daughter.

A reminder to all the strong mothers out there on Mother's Day.

The 21st of March is considered Mother's Day in Egypt and The Arabs region. As a celebration of that day ,Ministry of Social Solidarity holds a ceremony almost every year to honor mothers who did everything and struggled to help raise and educate their kids.

This year ,the names of those mothers were announced on the website of the ministry, as they will be honored today by Ghada Walli ( Minster of Social Solidarity ) will meet ,welcome and honor them also ,will award them as mentioned on the website of the ministry as they are a true model of sacrifice and love.

Sisa Jaber Abu Dooh ,a 64 year old mother from Upper Egypt, Luxor ,was announced as The Breadwinner Mother as she used to dress up as a man for 40 years working as a "bootblack" also as a "construction worker".

"Habits and traditions made me disguise in men's clothes to work, I even gained things from them...My voice became deeper and tougher ,that was after I worked with them lifting breaks and cement bags, which I'm still working in" Sisa said to Youm 7 journal

Sisa also added that she starts her work at 7 a.m. ,as she wears men's clothes and heads to the streets working in construction on days ,and others in polishing shoes so she'd be able to spend on her daughter who lost her father and she is 42 years old now.

Searching for bread to feed her daughter she chose to work on the hardest and most unsuitable for Egyptian women to work ,seeking the right path and proving strength and a power of endurance.
