    ACL Weekend 2, Day 1 With...Flosstradamus

We sat down with Flosstradamus to ask them five, simple questions...

During Austin City Limits (ACL), a sea of people surrounded Flosstradamus' stage—cheering at the familiar, modern sounds of the Chicago-based DJ duo, J2K (aka, Josh Young) and Autobot (aka, Curt Cameruci). Behind them, as a Rihanna remix plays, neon signs illuminate the stage and syncopate with the hard beats. We sat down with them to ask five questions…

    1.

    1. What are your favorite person, places or things about Austin?

Cameruci: The food is probably…I was going to pick a genre of food, but I'm going to say foodm in general, is my favorite thing about Austin… I'll just do my top three and that's: barbeque, breakfast tacos and the coffee.

Young: This is broad but it's so true. Just vibes, it's, like, the most chill city ever and I like Texas. Texas is cool, but this is, like, the most hippie diversion of Texas and I love it…It's got the brisket, but also really relaxing vibes.

    2.

    2. Who are the artists that you're looking to see and hear at ACL this weekend?

    Cameruci: Future, Future and Future.

Young: Future and Drake. We arrived at around the same time last week and Billy Idol has been playing. So, we got to hear his set in passing and that has been pretty rad.

    3.

    3. What did you want to be when you were little?

Young: A baseball player. I wanted to be a pro baseball player…Shortstop.

Cameruci: I don't even know. I don't really think I had any any aspirations to be anything.

    4.

    4. If you couldn't be a performer, what would you be doing right now?

Cameruci: Currently, I really like going to spas. I'm a spa-noisseur. I go to steam rooms and stuff. I met a girl in a steam room who reviews spas for a living and they fly her all over to the world. She gets to do the most amazing things, like diamond facials and all this stuff. So, I would be a spa reviewer. If I can relax, my whole life would be amazing.

Young: If I could choose anything to do right now…I really like animals and fish. So, I'd either work at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago or the Shedd Aquarium.

    5.

    5. Favorite curse word or substitution for a curse word?

Young: My favorite curse word is an off-limits curse word in America. In Australia—my wife's Australian—they use the word "see-you-next-Tuesday" (Editor's Note/Hint: "c-u-n-t") for everything. It's really bad, but that's my favorite.

Cameruci: I'm going to stick with Australian. They used "cunt", which I didn't even know was a curse word. Like, "you sick cunt." I was going to get ready to post up and fight them, but being a cunt is a cool thing there.
