7 States Where Boomers Should Retire

2014 is the last year of the baby boom. As some move into their retirement years, we have some suggestions on where they should "retire."

7. Utah

Looks like fellow boomer George Clooney’s getting married soon! According to our findings, he should pack his bags and head to Utah, which has the highest percentage of married boomers.

We should also mention that Utah's national parks and scenery are just as gorgeous as George ... if you're into that breathtakingly beautiful, this-should-be-a-screensaver picturesque, outdoorsy kinda thing.

6. Colorado

Keep your brain sharp, especially if you’re in Colorado since it has the highest percentage of boomers who have at least some college education. (We're not sure if they avoided Double-Secret Probation, though)

And now more baby boomers are heading back to school. If you're one of them, don't forget your toga.

5. New Mexico

Boomers, be sure to get your kicks on Route 66 and for some Latin-style romance, stop by New Mexico. The Land of Enchantment has the highest concentration of boomers who speak Spanish as their household language. Nearly half of the New Mexico population is Hispanic.

4. Maine

Seems boomers take a “Shining” to the Pine Tree State. The highest concentration of boomers is among Mainer adults. Does this mean Maine is boomers’ No. 1 fan?

3. Delaware

Fellas, do you fancy an older woman who likes to kick, stretch aannnddd kick? Get to Delaware where they have the highest concentration of boomer ladies. Can you say "cougar?" Rawwwwwwr!

2. Washington, DC

Outside of the occasional congressman, we know where boomers aren’t hooking up in their cars: Washington, DC. Our nation’s capital has the highest percentage of boomers without a vehicle. Washingtonians also get around using bike-share programs and public transit. (Just be wary of congressmen named Frank in the Metro.)
