What $1,500 In Rent Gets You In South Florida

It’s always interesting to see how apartments across the country vary in rent. Not all cities’ rent prices are created equal. Take for instance, New York City - a one bedroom in the Upper West Side can easily go for $2,500 per month while a two bedroom apartment in Aventura, FL can go for $1,700 per month. There was a funny, yet, real article on Mashable explaining what $1,500 per month in rent can get you. Since we're are based out of Miami, we figured why not write about what people can get for $1,500 per month in rent in the Magic City.

Aventura: This city in South Florida is no stranger to celebrities like Michael Jordan playing golf in the legendary Turnberry Isle Miami. Aventura is a beautiful city filled with luxury condominiums and a beautiful mall. Although prices in South Florida real estate have been rising, a one bedroom in Aventura can get you a 1,200 square foot apartment with some decent looking views.

Sunny Isles: A neighboring city to Aventura, Sunny Isles is a narrow strip that sits right next to the ocean. Sunny Isles is also home to the Porsche Design Tower being developed on Collins Avenue. Prices in Sunny Isles have risen dramatically. It may be harder to find a large one bedroom at $1,500 per month, but don't worry, there are still apartments available like the one below with a little over 700 square feet.

Miami Beach: Have you heard of Miami Beach? Of course you have! What's not to love about this city? There are restaurants, bars, clubs, beaches, hotels and really interesting people. Miami Beach is really split into two locations: Miami Beach and South Beach (where people buy bottles and take selfies at the clubs). Miami Beach is similar to New York City - expensive rent and small rooms, but great nightlife. For $1,500 you can find an apartment that's just 435 square feet.

Miami (Brickell): Good luck finding one bedrooms in Brickell for $1,500 per month. $1,500 a month will most probably get you a studio like this one with 421 square feet. Brickell is also like NYC, where you're paying a fortune for a hole in the wall. Brickell has really been booming in the past few years so the apartments there are more likely to be renovated. You want to live somewhere where there are plenty of young professionals? Brickell is the place to be.
