1. Get Rid of Clutter
Are you seriously considering packing that old pair of sneakers that have holes in them? Don't move anything you don't need or don't use today because it'll just take up space in your home. We're not telling you to throw away nostalgic items. When you find yourself saying, "hey, I may need that some time in the future, maybe for my future kids," it's a sign you should throw it out and pack what you really need.

2. Box According To Size

Not all items are created equal and that also goes for boxes. You wouldn't want to put a China Set in a box that's big enough to fit your entire closet. Small boxes for moving can be used for cutlery or your medicine cabinet while big boxes can be packed with trophies, books, etc.

3. Consolidate Items When Packing

Better to pack smart than to pack too much so pay attention. Can certain items be organized and packed into a box with other items? Books and trophies can be placed into the same box. Here's another great example of consolidating items into the same box so it's a win-win situation: Pack kitchen plates and towels in the same box. Why? The towels will protect the plates from cracking or breaking. Now you've just used one less box to pack items - smart aye?

4. Sell What You Don't Need

Remember tip #1 - get rid of what you don't need? Be smart and try to make some money cleaning out your belongings - have a yard sale. Set up one Sunday to sell things you don't need and make money doing it. Maybe you can use that money to pay for a moving company or to pay for any moving expenses.
Now that you have these three tips for organizing a move efficiently don't go over packing and under planning. Moving doesn't have to suck if you do it properly and smart. Use these packing tips to make the moving process easier. Make a checklist of items you plan on moving and follow through with it. Once you have your checklist, find a reputable moving company to do all the heavy lifting and logistics. If the mover you used was awesome, then write a positive review and share it with people so they don't have a dreadful move in the future.
