5 Signs You Need To Hire A Moving Company

To hire a moving company or not to hire? That is the question. So the time has come for you to move into a new apartment or house and you just realized that you have a load of stuff to pack and move - do you hire a moving company or do you just rent yourself a truck and move yourself? Sometimes do-it-yourself tasks like moving are not worth your time, energy and stress. Here are 5 signs you need to hire a moving company:

    1. You don't have all the time in the world.

Would you rather take 2 hours to move or 8 hours? Hiring a reliable moving company will cut the moving process time significantly. Moving companies have more than one job to do in one day so getting your stuff out of the house as quickly and safely as possible is their priority.

    2. The last thing you lifted was the toilet seat.

All jokes aside, lifting heavy boxes and furniture can be dangerous if you're not doing it properly. You might say, "but I work out 5 times a week in the gym and can bench press 200 lbs." Don't get us wrong, lifting heavy weights makes you strong, but it doesn't make you a pro at lifting heavy boxes and furniture. Movers know how to properly lift heavy items without the risk of injuring themselves - it's what they do. Don't risk a serious injury if you don't need to.

    3. All your friends have "important things" to take care of.

So you have a couple of friends that said they'd help you move, but it so happens that at the last minute, they can't make it - now what? You're better off playing it safe when it comes to moving day. You took the day off of work to move and now you're stuck without movers, that's a sticky situation to be in. Hire a reliable moving company that has good reviews and are punctual - you'll feel much better.

    4. You've never driven a truck and you actually prefer small cars.

Although, some might not agree, driving a truck is much different than driving a car (or a small car for that matter). If you have no friends to drive a truck and you're not willing to drive one then turn to a moving company.

    5. You're a master Tetris player, but that's where your talent for logistics ends.

So you know how to put awkward shapes in place, but what about awkward furniture? Have you tried lifting and moving an L shaped sofa and then find yourself asking "how the hell did this sofa get in this room in the first place?" Instead of practicing your Tetris skills on your furniture, hire an experienced moving company to do the job.

Next time you're thinking about hiring a moving company, consider what you'd be getting if you hire someone reliable - you wouldn't have to worry about any back breaking process. Focus on packing instead of lifting. Half the battle of moving is knowing what to pack and what not to pack. Happy moving!
