The 5 School Supplies Every University Of Oregon Freshman Girl Didn't Know She Needed

With the school year starting up, I thought I would bestow some of my advice on the incoming freshman girls at the University of Oregon. These 5 items are absolute necessities when it comes to living in the "Dirty Eug" and I guarentee any fellow female Duck will attest to that!

1. Hunter Rain Boots

I know, you're probably thinking "I can handle some rain, no biggie!" but unless you attended the monsoon Cal football game this past year, you have not experienced Eugene rain. While it may seem crazy to pay an extra $100 for a small rectangle that says "HUNTER" on the front of the calf, you will be so happy that you did. Not only are they the most common fashion staple on campus, they are the best quality rainboots you'll find and they will last you all four years.

2. Northface Vest

Is it a cozy, warm bundle of happiness? Is it a fashionable trend in this lovely Eugene weather? Trick question -- It's both! You will be so glad you got this vest to layer over your sweatshirt or spirit jersey, not to mention every girl on campus owns it! Warning: It feels extremely awkward to wear a backpack over this vest, but hey, who said fashion was meant to be comfortable?

3. Lululemon Leggings

Yes, these may look like your typical black leggings, but you are sadly mistaken if you believe that. These leggings are thick, reversible, perfectly cut to fit every body type, and wait - there's more! These leggings can be worn many times before washing because they won't stretch out! So you won't have to worry about getting to the dorm washing machines at 2 in the morning since that's the only time they seem to be open!

4. Baseball Hat

This hat will become your best friend, and I guarentee by the end of your four years you will have at least 6, if not by the end of your freshman year. These cute baseball hats are not only cute and trendy, they cover up a bad hair day! So when you wake up late for your Friday morning class after being out for Thirsty Thursday, you can throw on a baseball hat and no one will notice your hair is still curled from the night before!

and last but not least, the most important thing a Duck girl can have...

5. Waterproof Mascara and Eyeliner

Yes, I'm serious! Sure you've got a raincoat on, and you might even be holding an umbrella as well (which will totally give away that you're a freshman), but you will always manage to get rain on your face walking to class, walking to Autzen, or walking anywhere! You don't want to look like the drunk, crying girl at a party, so make sure to but some waterproof mascara and eyeliner and you'll be set!
