Spending a week exploring and helping a specific region

Get an in depth look at daily life of communities in either Northern Israel or the Negev, all while helping and having fun!

Skipping the touristy stuff that you do on Birthright

Birthright is a great introduction to Israel, but Alternative Break gives you the opportunity to experience modern Israeli society in an intimate way.

Plus, Alternative Break does not disqualify you from participating on Birthright!

Meeting new people

Not only do you meet Israelis from various communities, but you also meet people from all over the US! You're bound to make some new friends :)

Fundraisng for JNF's awesome projects

These projects can range from R&D centers and fully handicap accessible nature walks, to indoor recreation centers for children in Sderot.

Creating play areas for children

For children in areas like Halutza, the summers get up to 110 degrees and this provides a cool area for them to play that are also close to a bomb shelter if necessary.

Building up sustainable school yards

You should see how creative we get to provide the communities with beautiful spaces to play and learn. Most of us have never made a jungle gym out of tires, or built tree enclosures that also serve as balance beams made of rocks, mud, and dirt.

Actually being able to SEE the difference you make

While fundraising is effective and appreciated, it's even more amazing to actually work on the projects that your raised money goes to. Plus these trips happen annually, so you can return from year to year and see these projects grow!

Creating memories for a lifetime
