With April coming to an end, that means two things: First, more ‘May the Fourth Be With You’ jokes; Secondly and more importantly Cinco de mayo is right around the corner. Cinco de Mayo ,or the fifth of May, is the holiday that celebrates the Mexican 1862 victory at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. The holiday has become a popular celebration in the United States for all nationalities willing to celebrate any historical landmark that involves a chance to drink and eat carbs. If you’re not able to head South of the border to celebrate, perhaps you can head to the Northeast--specifically Philly. Our nation’s first capital city of Philadelphia comes alive more than just on the Fourth of July and offers a host of places to visit and festive atmospheres to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
