    Have You Seen Emilio? *UPDATED*

    Mexican Expat Emilio Canales Arredondo was last seen in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica on August 7th and nobody has heard from him since! If you know of this man’s whereabouts, please refer to the contact information at the end of this article.

    It is with heavy heart that we share the following update:

    In the early hours of Saturday, August 15th, the Office of Judicial Investigation located a body, now confirmed to be Emilio Canales Arredondo.

    The body was found on a ranch near Río Colorado, on the highway to Curubandé.

    Costa Rican police detectives raided three homes located in nearby neighborhoods and have arrested three suspects and also seized important evidence for the investigation.

    Two of the suspects are minors ( 15 and 16) alongside another man of 22.

    Apparently the suspects used Emilio's bank cards to make purchases at various shops in Liberia.

    The body was taken to the Judicial Morgue, so that the respective autopsy is performed in order to determine the cause and manner of death.

    The investigations into this case will continue and the detainees remain under the orders of the Public Ministry.

    Emilio is approximately 5’9 (1.8 meters) with brown skin, short black hair and dark brown eyes.

    Emilio Canales disappeared in the town of Liberia, in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. The last time he was seen was at 1 am on August 7th when he left home in his silver Toyota Yaris, license plates BFH-606. The car was found at dawn in the neighborhood of El Rodeito of Liberia, 50 meters away from the entrance of a junk yard but with no sign of Emilio.

    Originally from Jalisco, Mexico, Emilio Canales has been residing in Costa Rica for the last year due to a professional employment commitment. His friends and work colleagues were the first to raise the alarm following his disappearance on Friday, August 7th, 2015.

    His disappearance was reported to the police last Friday. It was also reported to the Mexico Embassy and the Consulate of Costa Rica located in Guadalajara, Mexico.

    To whom it may concern:We are writing this heartbreaking letter to all the news media outlets in Costa Rica so that everyone is aware of the disappearance of Emilio Canales Redondo.Emilio is a Mexican national. He lives in Liberia, Guanacaste. His car was found abandoned in the Rodeito neighborhood of Liberia, about 50 meters away from a junkyard. His car is a silver Toyota Yaris, and it bears the license plate BFH-606.The security guard at his house was the last person to see him on Friday, August 7th, at around one in the morning. He lives in Costa Rica due to work-related duties, and it seems as if his employer already reported his missing status to the police.We have submitted a missing person report to the Mexican consulate and to the consulate of Costa Rica in Guadalajara, State of Jalisco.The Office of Judicial Investigations (Spanish initials: OIJ) is already investigating, but we ask anyone who read this to helps us spread the word and distribute his photo across social media circles.Emilio Canales stands about 1.80 meters tall.
