Super Bowl 50 Set? Colts Vs Packers?

With teams preparing for training camp, the early speculations of which teams will represent their conference in the big game have already begun.

Colts versus Packers in Super Bowl 50?

That match-up is actually not impossible.

    Let's start with the Colts.

Since his rookie year in 2012, Andrew Luck has taken the Colts to the playoffs each each and has advanced to another round each season. (2012: Wildcard, 2013: Divisional Round, 2014: AFC Championship) 2015? If this pattern continues, then book Indy for Super Bowl 50. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

The Colts have revamped their Top-10 Offense from 2014 by adding on key veterans like Andre Johnson and Frank Gore to replace players such as, Reggie Wayne and Ahmad Bradshaw.

Oh, the Colts also added plenty of new receivers to their already deep-pool of pass catchers. We'll see if first round draft pick Phillip Dorset and CFL star Duron Carter can make a difference for this year's Colts team. It's gonna be the "Greatest Shoe on Earth".

I'm talking to you Pep Hamilton. You better make sure this team lives up to that bold statement.

Defensively, the Colts made as many changes as I did to my diet. Almost none.

The Colts defense has always been sub-par against the run. They were ranked 15th against the run allowing over 1500+ yards. Hopefully that statistic will change will the new additions such as Kendall Langford, Nate Irving, and Trent Cole. Don't forget, the 2013 Sack-king will make his return from injury.

Overall, this team looks like it will definitely make a run for the big trophy in San Fran. this upcoming season.

Now let's go over the Packers.

Their season ended horribly last year as they had their ticket to Super Bowl 49 taken right out of their hands by Russell Wilson and co. in the NFC Championship game.

You'd figure that forcing 3+ turnovers would give you a great chance of winning the game. Tough luck Pack fans. Things seem to be different this year. Although not many changes have been made to this team, their progression is definitely worth mentioning.

The high-flying offense led by Aaron Rodgers is bound to make a resurgence as key off-season signings have been made. Star wide receiver Randall Cobb makes a return to the team as he signed a pretty darn big contract and full back John Kuhn has also been resigned. Kuhn had another poor season only averaging 3.5 yards per carry while only rushing for 85 yards on 24 attempts. Sure, you cant blame the guy for the low production considering that you have Jacob Lacey in the backfield carrying the work load for the Packers rushing attack.

The return of Randall Cobb definitely lightens the load on No. 1 Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, who was recently ranked No. 18 in the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2015.

Jordy Nelson NO. 18 NFL Players of 2015

The Packers show much promise after evaluating last season's team. With the lack of big changes yet numerous key signings, this team is very similar to 2014's team. If Aaron Rodgers can recreate the season he had last year, this team is without a doubt, the team to beat in the NFC.

So how about it? Colts vs Packers in Super Bowl 50? It doesn't seem that far-fetch after thinking about it. Colts revamped their offense and made slight changes to their defense. The Packers are molding a very similar team to the previous season and hope to build off that success.

The last time these two met was in 2012 where Andrew Luck led the Colts to a come-from-behind win against Aaron Rodgers. Maybe that'll happen again if these two teams actually make it to the big game in February. If this game does become reality, expect it to be a shoot out between the league's premier Quarterbacks.

If I had to predict a final score, i'd say:

    Colts 28 : Packers 31
