When Eleven Became Twelve: How The Doctors Are Numbered

Matt Smith was always known as the 11th Doctor and that makes Peter Capaldi the 12th, right? Right. Even with a new cycle of regenerations upon us and even with the War Doctor and the 10th Doctor regenerating twice, Capaldi is still number 12. The BBC confirmed this by posting the above image with the title “When Eleven became Twelve.” They did not, however, post all the text below it as far as we can tell. It looks like a fan added it, but the Official Doctor Who Tumblr reblogged it, so it seems pretty darn official as far as I’m concerned.
