Why You Should Watch Boyhood RIGHT NOW

This is something I do not put lightly...but I would buy this movie without hesitation, the soundtrack without hesitation, and play continuously over and over again until the world spontaneously combusts and then some.

I mean. For God's sake. Just look at this beautiful, gorgeous, completely cute-scruffy-indie-boy-man. And this is just when he was in his early teens. I mean, *low whistle*.

2. Family Of The Year

Hero was released back in 2012 on their album Loma Vista, but I'm sad to say I didn't hear it until the trailer for Boyhood came out. But now that I know them and the wonderfulness that is their music...I will not rest until I posses their albums.

3. Ethan Hawke

My mom told me a couple years ago (back when she was a waitress at a popular inn/restaurant) that when she waited on Ethan Hawke he was a total jerk and Uma Thurman looked miserable, which essentially ruined him for me. But then I watched Reality Bites and fell a little (okay, a lot) back in love. Then I rewatched Dead Poets Society and couldn't stop smiling at his adorableness and (relatable) shyness. And then there was this movie and I completely forgave and forgot.

4. The Black Keys, Phoenix, Cat Power, The Hives etc. etc.

I'm alternative through and through, and this album couldn't have been any better. Well, maybe if they'd had Bright Eyes in the mix.

5. Patricia Arquette

She played the kind of mother that you don't often see in the movies these days. There was just this...reality to her character. She loved her kids without a doubt, (SEMI-SPOILER) made some not-so-great choices in men, and when it came down to it, struggled to figure out her life. In the end, I think she was perfect in all her imperfections.

6. Lorelai Linklater

The epitome of big sister stereotypes. And yet she still retained qualities that helped you overcome her occasional bratty, perfectionist moments.

7. Texas

They didn't really focus on this (Austin) except for a brief conversational moment, but I love Austin, mainly because of the food and alternative music scene. It's always been a dream of mine to go to Austin City Limits.
