Univision Slams Rubio In Facebook Post, Apologizes

A “mediocre” politician and less Latino than Jeb Bush?

Marco Rubio’s difficult relationship with the dominant Spanish-language TV network Univision hit another bump Tuesday when the network’s official Facebook account appeared to attack the Florida Senator.

“Beyond his ideology, Rubio is a mediocre politician who contradicts the values he says he represents. Jeb Bush is more Latino and talented than him,” the Facebook posting said.

A Univision official told BuzzFeed that the comment was deleted, and replaced with a statement in Spanish that translates, “An unpleasant comment not authorized by Univision News was posted on this page. That comment does not represent the views of Univision News and we have taken steps to ensure that this situation does not happen again.”
