christianh4 a year agoWhat a ridiculously misleading and silly argument. Oh, so we should start another cold war with Russia because we’ve had problems with them since the 80s? Boo-hoo. Have you considered how much stronger we’d be as a nation with Russia as a real ally? Then it’s be China against the world and they’d have to seriously consider a more even approach to diplomacy and U.N. measures. Boom: created an alliance wherein the world’s largest powers all work together instead of trying to fight or nuke each other. Being antagonistic with Russia hasn’t been working over the last twenty years. Maybe opening the table to discuss greater joint diplomatic solutions with Russia in exchange for working together to curb Iran’s quest for a nuclear arsenal (which every Republican candidate is waving around like some doomsday scenario that only they can single-handedly prevent, somehow)is exactly what the president needs to do to salvage our missions in the Middle East and prevent Israel from being attacked and possibly destroyed while simultaneously strengthening democracy in Russia and turning one of the world’s largest nations into a less tenuous friend. Honestly, if the Republicans don’t like winning, they can go ahead and keep running this stuff, it seems they’re getting what they want.
