Texas Gov. Rick Perry went awfully far in attacking President Barack Obama's foreign policy in tonight's ABC/Yahoo News debate, pledging to return U.S. troops to Iraq.
"I would send troops back into Iraq," he said moments ago, saying that he didn't want U.S. sacrifices to be in vain.
The last U.S. troops left the country last month, and the status of forces agreement giving the U.S. the authority to remain in the country expired at the end of the year. Without a new Status of Forces agreement, Perry's policy would amount to another invasion of the country.
