Trubador 7 months agoAlso regarding early voting - D registration is down from ‘08 while R is up. Still a D advantage, but smaller. The only way early voting helps a candidate is if the campaign gets people who otherwise might not vote or weak supporters. We don’t know any of this until the ballots are counted. Ds typically run ahead in early voting, Rs typically have better election day turn out, hence the saying rain favors Rs.

JeremiahJohnson1 7 months agoRasmussen was notoriously inaccurate in the 2010 elections, averaging 50/50 with it’s senate predictions and an average bias of +5 for republicans. If you put your hopes in Rasmussen you are in for a hard Fall and a big hangover come november 7.

Trubador 7 months agoTo all those saying the poll is an outlier, you don’t know what an outlier is. The RCP avg for OH is +1.9 for Obama. So a 49-49 is quite plausible. More likely that the Time and CNN polls are outliers being +5 and +4 for Obama. Also the Time poll is the only OH poll outside MOE, so it really is the outlier here.

JeremiahJohnson1 7 months agoElection.Princeton.edu has the odds of an Obama win at 89%. Nate Silver has the odds of an Obama win at about 74%. Iowa election market has Obama’s chances at about 63%. In trade has Obama at 63%. Republicans are deluding themselves, and the media is selling the myth of a horse race to sell papers and generate clicks. Obama will win. The republicans will be devastated and move even further to the right, thinking Romney just wasn’t conservative enough. Santorum or Ryan will get the nomination in 2016 and lose to Hillary Clinton. Before you know it, the republicans will have won only 1 popular vote in 30+ years (2004).

childeharold 7 months agoIs this accurate? Last time I checked, there was no tie. Can we report facts, for a change?

evilito 7 months agoBuzzfeed doesn’t care about facts. If they did, they’d point out that this is an outlier poll (one that was conducted before the third debate, btw). Buzzfeed is contributing to the mindfuck that this election has become by posting whatever it is they think will drive pageviews without posting any context or information whatsoever. Zeke Miller is actually the biggest culprit of this kind of crap.
