Obama Also Made Money Overseas, Paid Foreign Taxes
Reports $1.6 million in overseas income in 2009.
Mitt Romney is not the only American politician who reported making money overseas and paying taxes on it — President Barack Obama reported the same on his tax returns.
Obama made $1.6 million overseas in 2009 and paid $59,372 in taxes to foreign governments. In 2010, he made $820,000 overseas and paid $22,035 in foreign taxes. In 2011, he made $269,000 overseas and paid $5,841 in foreign taxes.
Romney had said he was unaware that he paid foreign taxes at a campaign town hall earlier today.

velvetknight a year agoOh no! Obama made money and paid taxes on it! Gosh, that would be really damning if anybody was making that same complaint about Rmoney, as opposed to the questions of his sheltering money in offshore accounts and paying a much lower tax rate because his money comes from investments (after lobbying to have the laws favor exactly that). It sure would be.
