Hispanic Running Mate Won't Help Romney With Hispanic Voters, Poll Shows

Democratic pollsters find Marco Rubio, Brian Sandoval, and Susana Martinez wouldn't give Romney a big boost.

A new poll from Project New America and Public Policy Polling of Florida, New Mexico, and Nevada Hispanics pours water on the Republican notion that selecting a Latino nominee would bolster GOP chances of winning the Hispanic vote.

The poll finds that selecting Florida Sen. Marco Rubio would do almost nothing to help Mitt Romney in Florida with Hispanic voters, and the same result is true for New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez and Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, in each of their states.

Hispanic voters in each state list jobs and the economy as their primary concern when deciding which candidate to vote for.
